Either way I am fairly sure before long we will need the extra storage. In, you can add POI (Point of Interest) files, Favourites and your active destination and sync all these to your device. Once it has been Formatted by the Tomtom it should show up in Mydrive Connect saying how much space is on it.īy the way if you do a Full Reset that can apparently free up some space. Try Formatting Card again in a computer then retrying it in the Tomtom. There have been a few cases where this is the case although they work perfectly in a computer. Once you have completed the full reset and you have relogged it into Mydrive it should download your My Places and your POI Files you had put on it.ģ If the above doesn't ask you if you want to Format the card then there may be a problem with the card working with the Tomtom. You will lose any Saved Routes doing this. This puts it back to the Factory Settings and hopefully should ask about formatting the card. When it is fully ready to work insert the card and see if it asks if you want it to Format it and if so say yes.Ģ If above does not work then try, PROVIDED YOU HAVE SAVED EVERYTHING TO MyDrive otherwise you will loose your My Places and your POI files on the unit, doing a full Reset of the unit from the System Icon with the card in it. Try the following.ġ Take the card out and then hold the Start button down for 20 secs approx until you get the drum roll. The Tomtom needs to format the card to its own specification. If you cannot see 2 strips across the bottom with the top one green virtually all the way across and the lower one with just a hint of green at the left hand end then as Ken_n_Liz says your unit cannot see the card you have put in. If that Up Arrow icon is not showing in the Hidden Icon box in the system tray rerun the Tomtom getstated software so you get the latest MyDrive Connect software. The other option causes a Box to appear for a short while when you start the computer to advise how many updates are available which if you then click on Starts The MyDrive Software. There will be 2 Boxes which if ticked will start Mydrive Connect automatically when the Computer is started. Click on this and it will open a box with a Gear wheel icon at the bottom right. Hover over each Icon until you find the Mydrive icon. If you click on that it will open a box with a number of Hidden Icons. When you attach your Tomtom and get the Bombom noise look down in the bottom right of your computer and in the system tray I think you should see a little Up Arrow Icon near the Time and Date icon. There was an issue with Windows XP recently but if you have the latest update that should have been cured.
